Tax Preparation

The Campaign for Working Families provides free income tax preparation in Volusia and Flagler Counties. IRS certified volunteers are trained to identify taxpayer’s eligibility for the EITC (Earned Income Tax Credit), Child Tax Credit, etc. and to help them file accurate tax returns, staff the VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) sites.

Many of the taxpayers who are eligible for free tax preparation also are eligible for tax credits. Over $6 million dollars of EITC money goes unclaimed in our two-county area each year. For more information, click here.

Financial Education

The Campaign for Working Families offers free FDIC Money Smart Program.

Money Smart, is a training program to help adults enhance their money skills and create positive banking relationships. The FDIC created the Program because it understands that financial education fosters financial stability for individuals, families, and entire communities. The more people know about credit and banking services, the more likely they are to increase savings, buy homes, and improve their financial health and well being. The Money Smart curriculum helps individuals build financial knowledge, develop financial confidence, and use banking services effectively. For more information, click here.
